As you grow in the company, we aim to ensure that your financial growth is on par with the value that you are creating for the company. At Atlan, increments are solely based on merit and the additional value you are adding to the company due to your growth in the cycle of the appraisal rather than the time factor you have spent in the company (while accounting for factors like inflation). This can manifest in growth in responsibility, quality of work, picking up additional responsibilities, etc.

The performance appraisal cycle happens in two rounds— October and April. You will be part of one of the rounds based on when you join the company.

Appraisals are done keeping in mind an employee’s performance ratings for the year but also are normalized holistically considering other factors such as parity, contribution beyond said outcomes, etc. Based on your growth journey, you might receive an increment (grow in the current band), or a promotion (move up a band) while getting appraised.

(Remember that we are a startup and cash matters. Appraisal cycles/increments etc. can be moved based on the financial growth and performance of the company and market scenario.)
